I recently had a family emergency back in my home in Virginia. I really wanted to go home, but didn't have the cash to buy the ticket. The principal at my elementary school brought all of the teachers together and they all chipped in and bought me a ticket. I just completely overwhelmed and I am so happy I can go home for a week. I don't even know what else to say right now. |

Good luck and have a beer for the home team. |

Koreans do have some nice traditions. My mother died a couple years ago and right before I left to go home - the faculty in my department gave me W100,000. I didn't need the money, they knew - but it is a tradition to do such things. I thought it was nice gesture.
Glad they were so responsive to your situation - you can return with very good feelings about your workplace. |

Hey, I am still in Korea, but I am leaving Monday. I am from Williamsburg, right down the road. And yes, I had great respect for my school, teachers, and principal before all of this. Now, it has just increased so much. |

Wow. How incredibly touching. I hope that whatever it is your family is going through, that you're doing okay. |
