If I'm looking to negotiate my second year's contract, what's a typical salary these days if I'm staying with the same middle-of-the-road hagwon? Starting salaries are all 1.9 to 2.0 mil here, for reference.

And yes, I have done some searching here already, and I found one brief year-old thread on the topic. Thought I'd get some current info.

Thanks!

They won't give you much. Even if you are a great teacher. They don't have to. Point is, they might not care if the whitey in the classroom is a good teacher or not.

Ask for 200,000 more per month. They might give you 100,000.

I don't know your situation but it might be more useful to not ask for a payrise but ask for your monthly hours to be reduced from 120 to 100. You might make a killing in Summer and Winter intensives.
