hi, i'm in hanoi.

i found this really cool shop here that sells propaganda posters... really cool stuff from like 30 years ago that says "NIXON MUST PAY IN BLOOD FOR OUR BLOOD" and "FARMER IS SOLDIER" and stuff like that. it's fascinating and cool.

but i don't know if korean customs is going to agree with me that it's fascinating and cool. i know for a fact i've seen something that says that commie propaganda is illegal to import into korea, and i've also heard that korean customs agents have about as much sense of humor as a card table.

so, when i return in 10 days... do y'all think it'll get confiscated at customs? if so, will i be put on some insurgents' watch list?

also... will korean customs officials recognize any communist propaganda that is non-korean? do they even know who ho chi minh is?

Why not some NAZI propaganda? Communism killed many, MANY more people than the Nazis. But I guess its "cool" to have communist propaganda, right?

As much as I don't see the "cool" element of the posters, if you just walk through the nothing to declare with them in your bag, you shouldn't have a problem. Smile

actually with what i've read about the communist movement in north vietnam there wasn't much ideological choice in the matter, what with the south vietnamese, chinese, french, cambodians, japanese and eventually the US bearing down them.

but hey daechidong waygoofy, thanks for confirming that all communism is indeed stalinism, ceaucescu-ism or the red guard. the problem is, it only took about 20 minutes for your reply. you're getting slow, are those dungeons and dragons games in your mom's basement taking up too much of your time?

Hey!! I bought that same watch...it always stops at 6:25 (get snagged or sumthin... Crying or Very sad )

While in China, I had a really cool conversation with a tour guide we had. He said that Mao was only 70% a great man. He said he changed so many things for the better, but also made many mistakes and hurt/killed many people...so 70% good, 30% bad.

when did money (capitalism) kill someone?

indonesia/timor
northern mexico and the maquiladeros
labor disputes in the US and canada the early 20th century.
england... just read some dickens. edit - why 'd i c k e n s' gets beeped is beyond me...
countless native peoples in north america, south america and wherever else manifest destiny decided to go...

just a couple off the top of my head. if you want to factor in metaphorical death with the number of people working in soulless, low-paying jobs the world over since corporations have outsourced anything worth doing for a living... add a few million.

i want to wear a daechidong waygookin watch. he's so much more 'mickey mouse' than mickey mouse could ever hope to be.

Your attempts at humour are lamer than your usual crappy banter DW. If you had a logical thinking process, you'd see that what he is referring to is greed. The love of money is the root of all evil. Millions have died for the pursuit of money. Fascism and Communism have killed many millions of people. However Capitalism also has blood on it's hands. How many working people have died due to lack of safety standards because that would cost a little bit of money to implement. Heck, how many people have died in the pursuit of resources like oil in order to make an extra buck.
I honestly think those extremist governments were much worse but capitalism is not innocent either. Money is a powerful motivator for evil just as much as power and they usually go hand in hand.

Kids choke on coins all the time. Does that satisfy your nonsensical debate?
