| Why do I keep seeing so many houses with orange and blue rooftops? I see a couple of other colours once in awhile....but I am curious to see if anyone knows why these two colours are so common? Surely, it can't be because they look nice! |

they had this in the "Ask a Korean Dude" section of that "Seoul" magazine a few months ago. It's something to do with that Park Chee Heung character wanting to put modern roofs on the buildings and yada yada yada.

I've seen a lot of blue watertanks on roofs too...or at least that's what I have been told they are for. |

| The roof of Kyongbukgung (and Cheong Wa Dae) is blue because only the Chinese were allowed to have Imperial Yellow. True. |

Where are you? I love those colored rooftops. Where I'm at in Seoul.. I never see them. Can't wait to take a trip into the mountains to see those again soon. |

In Jeolla province...they are everywhere in the countryside. When I climb hills or mountains I can see blue and orange everywhere......  |
