Help...I'm trying to get this straight re: transport and job opportunities...
If the g.f. works at the airport and lives 5 mintues walk away from where the planes sleep, then what's the best place for me to look for work?
She reckons Incheon City and the last subway stop is miles away from the airport... so is it more sensible to look for a job/ place in Bucheon and take a bus, or is there much of a settlement near the airport, including lots of hagwons...? ...any universities...?
The maps I've been able to find online aren't much help. Thanks heaps for any description or ideas on this situation.

Incheon seems to be a hive for dodgy hogwons.
If I were you I would try and get a job in the parts of bucheon (songnae, jung dong) and then take the airport express out to the airport. The bus runs reasnoably frequently. It will still take you about 40 mintues or so to get there though. |

Thanks for the feedback.
... When u say Incheon's a 'hive for dodgy hagwons' ... do u mean Incheon City, or the area around the airport...?
And, any idea how long a bus takes from Incheon City to the airport? Is it longer/ more expensive...? ...And, is that why you recommend Bucheon? |

| Theres that new airport town on the same island as the airport -- Yongdong maybe? -- a 10-minute drive away. Its growing rapidly & lots of families working in travel-related jobs are settling there -- prime english hagwon territory I'd guess. I think I recall at least a couple posters here working there. |

Actually there was a job advertised in that town on worknplay or somewhere in the last couple of days.
If I find it again I'll post it here or PM. |

| Do you want to see the girlfriend every night? If you do, Bucheon is much too far. The bus from Bucheon to the airport has never taken me 40 minutes. It's always been more like an hour. However, Bucheon is probably a better place to live than somewhere near the airport. But it really just depends on how often you want to see your girlfriend. If that is the most important factor, then I would suggest you wait for a job to open up near there. |
