We moved our hakwan to a new building a couple of weeks ago. It's much bigger and nicer and we're all happy with it.
My question is ... do I need to update the address on my ARC? Does immigration need to know that I'm working in a different building, even though the employer is the same? |

No, you do not need to notify immigration yourself. The address on your ARC is where you are living. Your hagwon will have to notify immigration and many other agencies about their move, but you personally, do not have to.
Just as a reminder, for those who do change personal addresses, you have 2 weeks to notify immigration. Failure to do so can result in a fine. |

your boss needs to tell immigration... but make sure he/she does it. If immigration decides to pay a visit it's your head on the chopping block too. |

I did it at city hall, & I suppose your local dong or gu office would serve in larger cities.
Yeh, good reminder. I'd guess this requirement wouldnt occur to most westerners, & it might not occur to bosses to let them know because its second nature to all Koreans to report changes of address. |
