I want a new cell phone that is also an mp3 player, but I do not want a camera. I can't take it to work due to security restrictions so it would be too much of a pain in the ass to have a camera on the phone. I asked a few vendors in Yongsan and they looked at me like I was trying to deliver a pizza to Mars. "Why on Earth would this crazy foreigner want a phone with fewer features??"
Can I get one? Or do they not bother making that particular combination? |

Not sure who you work for, but check that MP3 players don't have the same restrictions on them as camera phones.. they do in my place.
Never heard of such a thing, I'm afraid. |

Sure... Samsung made those kinds of phones, but finding one still new might be a big of a challenge. Then again, it's a JUNE phone, so you'd be paying for everything you download, if i'm not mistaken.
In all honestly, I wouldnt' bother.
My phone is .mp3 and the quality isn't that great. Lacking bass and doesn't get very loud. |

The rule is: no cameras, laptops etc. I'm sure I could sneak it in, but was seeing if I could avoid that altogether. I've got a nice little digital camera anyway.
But from what I gather the mp3 phones are almost non-existant and not worth it anyway. Someone mentioned battery life to me and I hadn't even thought of that. I'd hate to be bouncing to some tunes at the gym and accidentally kill my phone. Separate units it is!
Thanks for the ideas/opinions though! |

Battery life isn't an issue on my phone. Not with .mp3.
I can watch a 2 hour movie on one battery -- so long as I set the LCD at 65%, which is fine. That's with 2 LCD screens (front and back) going the whole time. With mp3, the LCDs aren't lit up for more than 5 seconds. |
