Today my GF and I were looking for some place for lunch and we stumbled on a vegetarian buffet restaurant near the Seolleung station (line 2, exit 1). If you know where the Toque bistro is, you hang a right before you hit that restaurant. If you don't, there's a Starbucks at exit 1. You come out of exit 1 and take your first right. You'll see Starbucks on your right. You keep heading straight. At the first intersection, hang a right. Go about a ha' block and it's on your left, second floor with a green sign. The sign is in English/Korean and says vegetarian restaurant.
I'm not a huge fan of vegetarian food but finding one in Korea is so rare that I'm like "we gotta try this". To my pleasant surprise it was a buffet. All you can eat for 8,000 won (at least at lunch time). The had great freshly baked bread, vegetarian Vietnamese style "summer rolls". Oddly most of the food wasn't vegetarianized Korean, save for the vegetarian kimbap.
Even more strange, we were the youngest people in the restaurant. It was packed by what passes for the Korean blue haired set. It was very strange to see so many old Koreans mowing down on food that was decidedly not Korean. You generally expect older Koreans to shun non-Korean food. Aging Korean Dead Heads and hippies, maybe? |

I think this is a different one. I've been to SM but I think the one at Seolleung Station is supposed to be a Country Life location? I remember looking for it a while back and not being able to find it. I agree, SM is great. |
