|
|
I'm looking for a place in central Seoul (Gangnam, Itaewon, Jongno, etc.) to print my digital photos from CompactFlash media. I don't want 4x6 snapshots, but quality 8x10 "art" prints on semi-gloss paper. I'm willing to pay for good service and nice looking images.
Any ideas? |

go to costo. i went to the one in yeongdongpo the other weekend and the prices are A LOT cheaper. of course, you have to have a membership (only 30 a year).
I had 4X6's, 6X8's and 8X10's printed (one hour) and it was really cheap and they turned out great, considering my camera is only 3.2 megapixels.
8X10's are only 1,250 won!!! 4X6's are only 170 won! i went around to a lot of places and priced developing before I went there. i checked about about 5 different places in itaewon and hongdae and they all wanted at least 300won for a 4X6. |

there are lots of Fujifilm places around the Jonggak area- look for the signs- also a big kinko round there, on the opposite side of the road from Millenium plaza, near the post office. No idea on quality, sorry. |

Ok, here's another question:
I've only had my digital camera for a few months so haven't had any prints done here
Do you just take in your memory card, tell them which prints you want and come back an hour later?
I know that seems like a stupid question, but after hearing about places here that fry your 35mm films and give you rubbish quality prints, I'm not sure if I'd like to entrust them with my memory card - even if just for an hour!
(How about if I took a CD in with photos saved on it? Would that work too?)

just give them you card and chill the *beep* out- what are they going to do to it that you suspect? Maybe the RGB balance won't be whatever you expect- but these people do this stuff 20 times per day |

I've printed at different Kodak and Fuji stores. It really depends on the store. Try printing a few small shots at them and see what they look like. The Kodak store near my home really sucks, but the Fuji one does a decent job most of the time. I went to a Kodak store in Itaewon that did OK for me. It really depends on the place. |

it just depends on the place...at the dig photo place i used to go to, i'd write a list of the prints i wanted and they did.
at costco, they have little computers where you insert your media (memory card, CD, whatever) and then you use the touch screen to pick your pics. i like that system, personally. so far, the quality at costco has been pretty good compared to some dig photo shops i've gone to. |

I personally would never take my card in.
For a start, if you would like to crop, sharpen and do levels in Photoshop etc., etc... just put them on cd at the size you want.
Then everyone is happy. |
