I'm in it. No one cares much. The boss razzed me once or twice. I said fire me. I want to leave the job. I will soon. (but do not want to leave him high and dry) The place looks like a clubhouse for bikers. The walls are all desecrated. Most kids could care less, though some are bright and learn a lot. I'll miss the bright 10% and be glad to leave the rest of the pretenders, including the boss, though he is actually a nice guy. Just that the place is a joke and the materials and classes usually suck. |

I know the feeling - in my case it's working where people pretend to care, but everyone knows the boss is only interested in making money, not educating children. I'm still giving it a fair bit of effort (apart from my kindie class). When the inevitable complaints start coming from the new supervisor that I'm being too strict I'll have to make a decision either to disregard what they say entirely and challenge the boss or just give up trying. |

Welcome to Korea.
In the hackwon system, it's all about making money and keeping the kiddies entertained. Actual education is a very low priority. |
