Does anyone have any experiance with Korean orthodontists?
I think I may have to get braces (embarressing at 26, but whatever) some time in the next few years, so any knowledge people have would be nice. I heard dentistry is pretty good there, but don't know about orthodonty.
Thnx. |

This year I will drop lotsa money on dentists. I have been trying to get the work done here but the communication is so bad save one dentist that I worked with. I recommend going to Thailand. Much more foreigner friendly and the price difference makes up for the plane ticket. |

Hi Dulouz,
Could you share the name and location of your dentist in Thailand. Any excuse to head to the Land of Smiles |

When I first came to Seoul I was a little freaked out about going to a dentist here; guess I read a few stories on Dave's about incompetence and pain that sounded gruesome. Then there was the language barrier. Freaked out I was.
Then I met a long-time foreign resident of Korea who hooked me up with a great dentist in Kangnam. He's got a Ph.D. in dentistry from American unis and speaks good English. He does everything from orthodontics to reconstruction/implants to regular dental work. He'll always discuss your treatment options with you in a clear manner and is happy to answer any questions you may have. He doesn't overcharge because you're a foreigner--he doesn't need the money, he's been a dentist for a long time. Has a very modern office and all the latest dental equipment from Germany/Switzerland. He uses Novocaine
I've sent many foreign friends and zapped people his contact info over time and they've always been happy with him. Especially the ones who shudder in fear of dentists from prior bad experiences or complicated procedures to have done.
Anyways, I thought I'd share his contact details with you all because he's awesome:
