This maybe old news to some, but i just noticed it. Actually the store looks very new.

It's located behind the Joong Ang Police Box. It's on the art supply street. Follow Dong Sung No away from Hanil Theater/ XN Milano. Use the right fork in the street and follow it to the end where it meets up with the main street. Once you reach the end of DongSungNo, you'll see the police box. walk behind it for about 50 meters. you'll see the sign on the left.

most of the stuff inside is a season behind, tho.

I feel so in the know all of the sudden. I've only been here a month but caught a glimpse of the Gap and Banana Republic last weekend while I was out walking around.

I also stumbled across some underground shopping place but everything was empty. I just wanted to cross the street without waiting for the light. It was near the Gap and the Hospital stop. Anyone else seen this?

Can you give us an idea of the price ranges? Are they the same as US?

haha. sure. that would be worthy of a photo...all us waegookin in the daegu GAP.

as for prices, everything i saw seemed to be 10-20% higher than Canada...i don't know about the U.S....
i was in a hurry and the store was closing, so i only looked at some striped cotton t's. they were 49,000...and a 10% dscount.
there were higher discounts on other things as the window sign advertised, but i didn't stick around.
keep in mind, the stuff was a season old.

and, that underground shopping mall is a byproduct of the new subway line that runs through it. Banwoldang station is at that mall and will be a transfer point to old line 1.

Plokiju: are you coming to our gathering tmorrow??

I will be there unless I get lost which I'm apt to do. I should be able to manage the fountain though.

PS I didn't make it inside the Gap. I didn't realise it was so special and though I need some more professional clothes, I really don't like getting my won from my BMO account. Only a few more days until I'm a Korean millionaire.

it's not that special.
if you're looking for some slacks and shirts for work, you'd be better off going to the Korean GAP which is GIORDANO.
same style, same prices.

I was under the impression that GAP wasn't available in Korea. Did something change?

On one hand, I agree. On the other, as a size 10-12 tall female, Gap could give me a chance to actually try on clothes again. Embarassed

well, what's SHOCKING about this, is........it's in DAEGU !
we don't get much of the world here, although lately....i'm SHOCKED!

but, really, GAP is not the starbucks of the clothing world. it's the Dunkin Donuts of the clothing world.
banana republic is the 'Starbuck's'
and old navy....it's the Tim Hortons.
