Look.

England's national sport? Futbol. Yet they seem never to win a World Cup.

Canada's national sport? Hockey. But Americans who never really watch hockey always seem to win the Stanley Cup.

I love it. Why? It just makes it so easy and fun to goof on these two nationalities.

Half of the Carolina Hurricanes roster is Canadian, about 1/4 is from Europe, 1/4 is American. Canadians still won the Stanley Cup.

The Montreal Canadians have won the most Stanley Cups. Until another team beats that record, they're still Les Glorieux Very Happy

I heard the Canadians are actually thinking about moving to Lakeland, Florida.

They will now be known as the Snowbirds.

England has about as much chance to win the World Cup as the United States.

The only team in Europe that has a remote chance is Germany--mainly because they have home field advantage.

Don't worry, my friend. In no time, your angry little brethren will be tipping over cars and starting fires in London when your team bows out of the contest.

Odor, you and tarhead and some of the other Canada bashers should put your heads together (not exactly a mensa meeting) and write a book on Canada bashing. I'm sure it'll be a big hit in some of the less-educated colonies of America.

Either way, it was a great game, and amazing series and an even more amazing playoff run!

Kudos to Edmonton for making this far! 2nd place isn't that bad.

Colonies?? The USA has George Washington on its money. Who is the old woman wearing a crown on Canadian money?

Odor,

I tried to be nice to you at first - seemed like an okay chap - but you just seem to want to take a crap on England much of the time, so I'm done with you now, you anencaphalic twit. Didn't you say you drive a truck in Louisiana? Stick to that and go scrub the dirt from your knuckles, you cap-wearing, dirty, insignificant little lower class fellow. Maybe if your parents weren't also your sibblings, you might have got a better job!

England have won the WC only once because there are a lot of countries that are better at the sport than us. That's because it's popular and it's probably popular and so fantastic because WE invented it.

What I find funny about Americans is the fact that, despite being a superpower, spending more money on the military than the next 15 countries down put together, you still managed to lose a decade-long war to North Vietnam. That's pretty embarrassing. Hope that helps. Don't all agree at once folks.

Jolly good show, old chap.

But I don't wear a cap like some football-mad English pooftah!

I'm American! I wear a Cowboy Hat!

I also have a pretty big belt-buckle.

But, in all honesty, my fingernails are dirty.

BTW, I've already done your job. I loved Korea. Didn't care for the teaching too much. 2 million won a month just wasn't doing it for me. But I do miss the place.

If I ever get desperate--really desperate--I know I'll always have a job to go back to.

That sure the hell wasn't my idea. I'd have a scantily-clad young miss (check out the soccer babes thread for possible monetary wenches) clenching a dripping.....

....cold beer!!!! Yeah!!!
