Where would the long term travellers/ Esl teachers work if China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan went to hell in a basket. Another country? or Home?

I'd go to Europe but I wouldnt do ESL there. My aunt lives in Vienna, she is engaged to one of the main sponsors of Austria Vienna, the largest football club in Austria. She has told me to come and live in Austria. Problem is I dont know any German. I guess I'd learn pretty quickly if I had to.

That's odd...a poster calling himself "tokki" posted that his aunt was also engaged to the same guy! No wonder the wedding hasn't happened yet.

Yeah, that's why it's so strange! Imagine two Canadians, both working in Korea, both claiming to be Polish, and both with aunts engaged to marry the manager of Austria's largest football club. What a small world!

Must be cousins.

I never claimed to be Polish. Infact I never stated my ethnicity. You must be seeing things. Get off the glue.

Wow, DW is Tokki? Interesting. At first I thought Tokki was Kiwiboy, but he's in Japan now anyway.

It's OK, DW. I've been teased and joked with others that I'm Gollum -- something my co-worker finds really amusing.

I would live in either Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, Malta, or Israel. Or Turkey.

Not only that, but Canada's apparently not an option. Nor is Europe or a few other regions. Thus DW's and most of Mithridates' answer is disqualified: RRRRRRR!!! (<-- obnoxiously loud buzzer sound) Along with my answers, too. I mean, why can't I go to Antarctica or Jupiter if I want to?

Beyond that, I think it's time for some ugly prediction threads. Like, Which country do you think will lay the smackdown on which other country first? And will it come too fast for us to get out of harm's way? And would you flee if you could?

If there's any bright side to all of this (and there isn't) it's that the Norks have suddenly been relegated to the back page where they've always belonged. And I for one am personally hoping and are having major conniptions because of that.

If these countries went to hell in a handbasket, I would go down there with them to say hello to a few old friends.

I apologise for missing out Europe, I had thought it would go through, but no cigar. This was mainly aimed at those who don't have any real desire at the moment to go home and say they did thier OE. I mean those of us who have been travelling from Birth and probably will continue to do so for a lot longer. There was one thread before about where you have lived. I count only countries that I have lived in for 3 years. I wonder if anyone can recomend a decent place to work next as I passed 3 years 3 months ago and need to move on. Hints??
