The city is not bad at all. Cheap shopping, loads of Americans, good restaurants, clubs, excellent bands from the States that cater to the G.I.s, and Seoul is but an hour away at the most.

Depends where you are. I was there a few weeks ago, and parts of the city are truly repulsive. Try and find if you'll be in a newer part of town.

What dong are you going to?(if you know) We were told we had a job there but actually we were in Songtan(which is much nicer than Pyoungtaek) Songtan has a murky histroy which is why it's ignored on some Korean maps. If you're in Songtan, you'll be close to Osan airbase. If you're actually in Pyoungtaek, you'd be reasoably close to Chonan.
