superb!
delecatble!
reasonably priced!
that about sums it up.
they have a staff of gen-u-ine Thai Chefs...and thankfully, they were not plucked from some food shack from the beaches of Pattaya.
These guys know their stuff and present a very diverse, authentic menu.
The restaurant is pleasantly adorned with traditional Thai decor and most of the servers speak a little english. If you can't decipher hangeul, you'll need their help because the menu has not been translated yet, nor does it have any juicy photos to point at.
Today, pressed for time, i sided with the common Phad Thai. It was anything but common in this case. It was served with tofu, tiger shrimps, baby shrimp, sprouts, green onion, fried egg,. The later ingredients were arranged around the noodles, which one is expected to mixed together at the table.
Each table has a spice tray and crushed peanuts for you to add according to taste.
The portion was large enough for a healthy western appetite, and is served with a bodum of hot Jasmine Tea. The price was 9,000won.
Any order includes tea, and dessert...specifically lychee fruit, glazed sweet potato, orange slice, and a choice of coffee or soft frozen yogurt.
Now, if i could just get them to keep those crappy pickles off the table.
DIRECTIONS:
Susung-gu directly across the street from TBC broadcasting and the Ariana Hotel. It shares the same building as Gumyong Chinese restaurant, which is a large, white, stone building. When you enter the building, the thai dining room is to the right.
-on a side note it shares nothing in common with Thai Suki, a less favorable sister located downtown. |
