Right so I have a Sony Vaio, and I like it ok. I am thinking of upgrading to something better eventually but for now I am alright with it. My only complaint is battery life. When I play dvds or any kind of graphic related thing my battery life becomes negligible, maybe 50minutes if I am lucky. When just running it on battery I get three to four hours, of non-graphic use.
So my question is does anyone know if you can buy better batteries. I have 2 now, and really dont want to have to buy, more lowlife batteries, but I will if there is no alternative. On that note can you buy just replacement batteries? |

If you leave your laptop plugged in constantly and running with the battery fully charged you will seriously kill battery life. I learned this the hard way. My Fujitsu machine, after three years, lasts approximately 3 mins on its battery.
Charge your laptop. Run it on a battery. When you get a warning, plug it in until it is charged and repeat. Either that or take out the battery until you need portability and then replace it. |

Yeah, running a DVD or using the HD a lot will kill your battery life. There's no real solution here. The best laptop battery technology out there gives 3-3.5 hours of juice if your laptop isn't using the HD or CD player a lot. I've found a new battery will let me watch a movie before it dies. But that doesn't last long. If you use your battery a lot (I take my laptop with me to starbuck ever day) you'll find your battery doesn't hold a great charge after 4-6 months. Mine gives me about 45 minutes of juice. |
