a jacket that is too light colored to keep clean. It's 100%cotton. Anyone know where to get something like this done? I've heard places do it for leather goods, but I haven't heard about cotton goods. Thanks for helping. |

I know you can buy fabric dye at most art supply shops, if you want to do it yourself. |

I've definitely seen it around. Did you try the art section at Linko's in COEX? |

Thanks peppermint, I'll try there Saturday. How would you recommend dyeing here? Back home, I used to use the next door apartment's washing machine, but I don't know if the cold water would work here. Also, if I do stove top, how do I avoid the ...urpppp.... tie dye effect? |

Stumptown: if you find dye can you please post where you got it. I've been searching where I live but can't find any. None of the art shops know anything about it, but I live in the sticks and haven't had a chance to go to a bigger centre.
Can you also post how it works out, i.e stove-top vs washing machine.
Thanks |

I found some at a stationery store near my house. I mixed the dye with boiling water, presoaked the shoes I used, mixed the premixed dye with the water and a tablespoon of salt and let it sit overnight. The dye here isn't as strong as Rit dye, so it didn't dye the rubber, but it worked ok. If you want, PM me and tell me the color you want and I can meet you if you're close and give it to you. |

In Dream Depot's (a stationery chainstore) latest catalogue I have seen DYLON dye, so you can definitely get it here. |
