|
|
I was told today that if I resign that the two weeks paid leave that is in my contract includes my 7 days vacation.
The contract clearly states that the 7 days is vacation, and that the 14 days is special paid leave. No where in my contract does it say that the special paid leave for resigning cancels out the 7 day summer vacation.
I'm just wondering how other Gepik schools are "interpreting" this??

tell your school they are wrong. You get two calendar weeks as a bonus for re-signing. You also get your 7 days vacation. Tied in with the holiday that month it works out that you should be off from the 5'th of the month til the end of the month. |

Pleased to say that my school and GEPIK have done an about face on this issue. As the contract states, I will get 7 working days vacation plus the 14 calender day re-signing home leave (of course if I resign). To save face, I was told that the new GEPIK manager is much more flexible than the previous manager (huhhuh). Maybe this means renewal contracts will hold some pleasant surprises (I won't hold my breath).
Of course, my school thought I would immediately say YES to re-signing. I won't say either way until i see the new contract (I've been told early June). This gives me some breathing room to look around. My chances of resigning have now increased to maybe 40% from 0%

Another interesting thing to keep in mind is that there are some GEPIK teachers that have a 10% pay raise written into their contracts if they renew. Make sure your school is aware of this and matches it! |
