Who's playing this?...my korean buddy hooked me up with an account which was sterling of him...1 problem, it's all in korean...so finding and finishing quests is an absolute mission.
Anybody else playing this game with a korean version?...how do you do it?...i tried googling for quest walkthroughs but drew a blank. |

Original English copies are available, but they are pricey. There is a vendor on 7th floor of Technomart who sells World of Warcraft for 84,000 won. He also mentioned that they've got it in Yongsan (somewhere.) |

registering it and playing it over here might prove harder than getting it though. |

They are giving Korean copies away at COEX.
Across from Holly's Coffee, by the top entrence (Burger King) to Megabox.
You can't miss it. There are people standing around playing the game, and a young Korean woman giving away copies of the game to anyone who asks.
Again, it's in Korean.
With my copy I went to Youngsan to try and do an even switch for an English version of the game, but after a little over an hour of trying I had no luck as no one had an English version. |

Well, I just picked up Everquest 2, had no problems registering it, and I can't really see why you would if you use an American credit card and address. |

My bud did it. Even logged it for the first time in N America.
When he went to play it scanned his Ip and noted it was a Korean one. A GM chatted with him in the game about why he is playing from Korea. It's a chance you take i guess. |

Well, that's probably because WoW has regional servers. I didn't realize that would stop one from playing however. Ah well. |

the reason it stops people is money.
In the US you pay $60 for the CD and $15 a month (I think) while in Korea you get the CD for free and pay $30 a month (or there abouts). They seperate it for pricing reasons and don't like a mixing of the two. |

Seems to be a bit of confusion here. Did your friend buy the English or Korean version of WoW? If he bought the Korean version and tried subscribing to the U.S. payment plan, then I can see why he would have problems.
However, I was talking about buying the U.S. version. I had no problems doing that with EQ.
Edit: From the WoW website.

I travel overseas for work/school/military purposes. Will I have problems playing the game?
You should be able to travel and play the game from overseas, provided you have an account in your home region. However, network connectivity at such distances is not under Blizzards control, and your play experience may vary as you travel, so we ask that you bear in mind that your connection and support experience will most likely not be optimal.
If you're stationed overseas for an extended period of time, we recommend that you subscribe to a localized version of World of Warcraft in the region closest to you. |

Yeah, it was a US version he bought and he logged in for the first time in the states.
The GM?dev came on and busted his chops about being from a Korean IP. He got out of it but there was a chance he couldn't.
They say that on their web site and I belive it... but man, my bud went through weeks of hastles with it FYI |

Connecting from Korea gives you a high ping and them lag. The Admin have every right to kick or not. It's a good idea, I think.
Who needs one frozen player, someone warping all over, dropping in and out of a game? It's a drag for everyone.
Not so bad in a game like warcraft I guess, but trying to play CS on a US server is silly. Bring down the team, causes lag on the server and is frustrating for me running through history in real-time. |

Well I am an old WOW player (my acct ran out about 6 weeks ago)
I'm not fussed with it at all, so if anyone wants my account (with a level 35 night elf hunter and a lvl 19 tauren shamen) then pm me and i'll give u my login and password details. You'll have to sort out the credit card payments to WOW tho |
