Interesting.

By what percentage should your salary be increased?

Tied to the number of nuclear devices detonated?

Something like:

One nuke detonated should result in a 25% increase in my salary.

Two nukes detonated should result in a 50% increase in my salary.

Other possibilities?

I chose "Where's North Korea?". We Koreans tend to refer to our country in English as simply "Korea". If the Dear Leader tests a bomb, it will show everyone Korea has taken its rightful place among nations as a superpower. It will be a proud day for we Koreans, and certainly nothing to be afraid of or run away from.

Finally, someone with an analytical mind. Thank you.

I was thinking of an extra 10,000 won per week "brown trousers" allowance to cover cleaning costs, with a permanant increase in pay directly linked to the amount of skin coverage I lose due to radiation burns.

If they test the nukes in North America on Canadian arts graduates, I'll stay; because then a lot of the job competition will have been eliminated. Razz Razz Wink

I'm hoping to be personally rescued. Very Happy I wonder... is 500,000 more/ month too much to ask for in danger pay? I have a Korean co-teacher who would be just fine teaching without me, so maybe they wouldnt respond to my request for danger pay. If I were working at a hagwon, I'd definitely request more pay if a big scare happened where loads or foreigners were returning home. Very Happy

Why would you go to Britain or the U.S? they've tested hundreds and thousands of nukes.

North korea tests one, and you want to leave?

I am really curious about this whole "nuke testing" thing. Where would they test it? The mountains near China? That can't make China happy. They surely wouldn't be stupid enough to test them near the border with South Korea.

North Korea doesn't exactly have a lot of room to be testing weapons, and in any case, we are quite close to it.

I'm still waiting for the US to threaten an announcement granting Japan the right to a larger army and more weapons if NK should test nukes.

THAT would make China get a little more serious about stopping North Korea and less serious about trying to help little KJII save face.

For those that doubt the military capacity of the DPRK, consider these numbers:

DPRK KOREAN PEOPLE'S ARMY (IN-SERVICE):
700,000 persons.

DPRK RESERVES (MILITARY TRAINING UNIT):
1,700,000 million persons.

DPRK WORKER-PEASANT MILITIA (Aged 17-60):
4,100,000 million persons.

DPRK YOUNG RED GUARDS (Aged under 16):
1,200,000 million persons.

So the current DPRK numbers are somewhere above 7,000,000 troops.

The USA currently has 32,500 troops based in South Korea.

Numbers don't reflect capability. Unless that "feasting on the entrails of the enemy" propaganda was meant literally, how exactly would North Korea even be able to feed their army in the event of a conflict?
