I am in the process of renewing my E-7 visa sponsored by my employer, a US based financial company.

Situation:
The co. has just received approval/required documents from immigration for renewal. The next step is me visiting immigration with passport and paperwork, which can't be done until May 25th (date of meeting to finalize 2nd year contract conditions).

Complication:
1) Immigration says visa renewal takes anywhere from 3-10 days
2) Immigration is apparently backlogged at the moment
3) My current visa expires on June 5/2005

Question:
Can I get a one or two-week extension on my current E-7 visa to give me the required time to complete the visa renewal process?

Immigation is impossible to get through to these days and I appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks.
-Brett

I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you think you need an extension. You are turning in the forms on May 25th. That leaves plenty of time for Immigration to issue you a renewed visa. I had one boss who would wait till the day before the expiration date--and we didn't get extensions.

If I understand your post, you have nothing to worry about. Just get the forms in on May 25th as planned. If I misunderstood, I'm sorry and ignore this post.
