My hearing is going South. Not just in my opinion, thats what the specialist says. You can't tell my hearing is bad but I can. Its so bad in fact, I need a hearing aid. As you get older, the body disassembles itself for an easier fit into the coffin. Either that, too much walkman rock n' roll or swear words that left my left ear stinging.

The question is moot because here in Korea, different = bad-uh. However...it does force the students to speak clearly and speak up and they need that.

You can't sell the hearing aid aspect to prospective employers. You just need to leave it in your pocket during the interview and put it on after you sign the contract.

My hearing's <90% (too many rock concerts as a kid... I'm in the process of suing Ozzy and Geddy Lee), and while I don't need a hearing aid I do lip read a lot (mostly unconsciously) as a complement to my listening. I haven't told my employers at all, although I did let it slip to the head teacher not too long ago. He just said to keep it under my hat. Students haven't noticed anything amiss (it's not like I'm DEAF), so I figure no harm no foul.

I worked with a guy who openly wore his two hearing aids. The boss and students all knew. His listening comprehension was pretty low, but I could never tell if he just didn't hear the words well or if his brain didn't compute.
