I just got a hook-up to St. Louis International English School in Daegu through a recruiter and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this hogwan. I am seasoned enough to know the warning signs with regards to contracts, etc. but, it would be nice to be informed of any problems with this school.
I have found one blacklisting of this particular school but, who knows how old it is and whether or not that person's problems were widely experienced among other members of the staff.
Any help in eliminating or designating this school would be much appreciated.
Thanks everyone! |

yo jazblanc...
i don't know how your post got by me, but here is what i know....
a coworker's friend just quit as the foreign teacher manger there. he cited too many collisions with a mean korean teacher manager. apparently the korean teacher was not shy about verbally insulting him.
he also mentioned a series of resignations and firings. the school has a rather 'unique' approach to education. they offer classes like' Show and tell"...which is exactly as it sounds. the teachers are responsible for teaching a variety of classes that really don't make much sense...and are expected to put in a lot of prep time.
he said the director was a nice enough guy, but the korean manager was a dolt. |

Thanks for your reply, finding someone with information on this particular school was a longshot so, I'm glad you saw it.
I think I'm gonna pass on this offer. With complaints of late pay, long hours, and abuse, that's enough to make me keep looking for something better. |
