Three year old Brandon Isaac Runstedler was abducted on June 4th, 2007 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was taken by his Korean birth mother, Sun Hi Kim (a.k.a Esther Kim; Gina Kim; Gina Yoon). Ms. Kim does not have legal custody of Isaac. Sun Hi Kim's mother, Jeong Ae Lee (uses the alias "Alicia") was also involved in the kidnapping. They currently are believed to be in the Itaewon area, where Ms. Kim may be working the juice bar scene under an alias.

Sun Hi Kim was born on August 27th, 1972. She is a Korean citizen from Itaewon, Seoul, Korea with long, straight black hair and brown eyes (blue colour contacts used occasionally). She is approximately 5'3 inches tall and weighs 110 lbs. Ms. Kim has a history of mental illness, violence and fraud and has an arrest record with the Edmonton Police Department. Formerly, Sunhi Kim was the proprietor of several questionable bars in Itaewon (Uncle Jack's; MGM; Glory; Blackjack). In 2004 "Uncle Jack's" had been placed off-limits by the U.S. Military due to evidence of prostitution and human trafficking. She is currently in hiding.

Isaac was born on January 24th, 2004. He has hazel eyes and brown hair and speaks only English. He was soley raised by his father, Steven Thomas Runstedler, for the last half of his life. Mr. Runstedler has legal custody of Isaac and is desperately searching for his son.

If anyone has information concerning the welfare and whereabouts of Isaac and Ms. Kim then please reply to [email protected].

Sir,

Do you have any photos of the women? Many of us are familiar with the persons who work over there.

Send letters to the Korean National Police, CSIS/RCMP, all of the editors of the Korean English language newspapers, and hit up the Canadian embassy for help.

We all wish that you see your son immediately.

God bless.

R

Any way to get this into General Discussion as well? More people read it.

Don't stop there, put a copy in the job discussion forum as well because that way the public school teachers can see the picture and figure out if the child is in one of their schools.

I hope you find your son!

Spot on.

I'll ask Canukistan or Kalagushi to put this stuff over there.

I would include the Korean office of Interpol on that list.

Something smells fishy here.

I googled this. Only one thing: the exact same post in the personals section of some online newssource in Canada. If this was a kidnapping, it would be playing out differently. First, you'd be contacting the police, not the estranged father.

I'm absolutely sickened at your response to my posting.

The RCMP and Edmonton police are powerless to do anything about the abduction of my son since it is obviously out of their jurisdiction.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can do nothing other than negotiate the return of my child because South Korea is not party to the Hague Convention Treaty concerning the repatriation of missing children. Therefore the custody order I have from the Canadian courts is useless in Korea.

The Korean police will not do anything to assist me since my son is living with his Korean birth mother. Arrests cannot be made since from their perspective no crime has been committed.

Go to Hell you sanctimonious s**ts.

I agree,
this has every earmark of a man looking for an ex (girlfriend or wife) to beat the crap out of her. If this is legitimate, let the police contact the Korean Government and place it on interpol. DO NOT get involved yourself or you may be aiding a very serious crime.

To Poet:

One day may your first born also be abducted. Maybe then you will understand how it feels when ignorant pricks like yourself advise people NOT to help recover your child.

I would like to express my thanks to those who have given my family support during these difficult times. Even small things like thoughtful suggestions or just a few kind words made a big difference.

Someone responding to this post was actually able to track down the mother of my son. I have forwarded the information this person gathered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa. I have been informed that a representative of the Canadian Embassy in Seoul will attempt to make contact with her to confirm the welfare of my child.

Although Isaac is still yet to be found, it is needless to say a huge step in the right direction. I am indebted to this person who really went out on a limb to help recover my son.

Steven
