i just got my internet hooked up today....but am already having problems. there are a lot of web pages that freeze up, and then crash IE. i noticed there is an icon in the system tray that says "Status: Limited or No Connectivity". When I double click that I get a message saying "You might not be able to access teh Internet or some network resources. This problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer." anyone have an idea on what the problem might be or how to fix it? Thanks.....dont know if it matters that I have hanaro or not

I get the same message when I'm at home on my ADSL. The problem comes from the fact that I also use my laptop at work on their network. My connection at work is a straight LAN, without dialing or anything. My connection at home is ADSL. The computer is sensing the LAN cable plugged in and can't find my work network. But when I dial up the ADSL, it's fine.

Not that this helps, but it may give you a bit of insight if you are in a similar situation.

Do you run a firewall? It may be blocking your IP renewal service. Try switching off your modem for a minute, then switching on again.

You can also select "repair" drom the dialogue box when it comes up. Personally, if you haven't a firewall and the network is set up correctly for the WinXP SP2 firewall, then call your ISP.
