So...I have been spending quite a bit of time with a Korean girl. She has called me SeoBangNim (서방님) several times--I am not sure if that is the correct spelling. I am not sure what this means.
Would someone please let me know what the English translation is, and if there are any connotations that I should know of. I have asked her what it means, but she only tells me that it is a "secret." |

it's an old fashion way of saying 'dear husband.'
looks like she's REALLY into you. |

Sounds like a nut to me.
My wife never called me that until we were married. |

It's a very old fashioned way of saying "husband."
However, Seo In-young used it quite frequently on the show "We Got Married" when speaking with her fake hubby Clown J.
Considering she's a walking bandwagon industry (we have her to thank for the incredibly short jean shorts seen last summer, but also her to hate for the ridiculous Lego-hair bob-style that so many girls are sporting these days) it's no wonder that many girls are referring to their boyfriends this way.
If you really want to make her blush, call her "Mah-noo-rah" which is the old fashioned term for "wife." |

Google translator spit these out:
1. ones husband;ones master;ones hubby
2. Mr.
3. Old...
4. the west
5. western countries
I'm buggin. The uncle of a K-gal I dated a while called me Moon Seo Bang and laughed a lot.
(They'd assigned a Korean name with Moon.)
My girlfriend told me it just meant "nephew." |

It's not really that uncommon for a girl to call her b/f 서방 or 서방님. She's just kidding around. Next time, answer her back with Jib Sah Rahm. |
