I am considering EPIK because I'm interested in teaching high school. HOWEVER, there is a yard-long list of forms to fill in and documents to provide.

1. Do ALL of the documents etc have to be turned in before I am considered for the job?

2. How much say did you have in choosing your school? I know you can designate the province, but do you get to state any further preferences?

3. One of the questions on the application form says to list any and all applications for other jobs. Are they serious about wanting to know?

I'm all for weeding out the unqualified, but haven't these people heard of a two or three step process? Geeeesh.

Most of the EPIC, and all of the GEPIC, job positions are in elementary schools, with a few middle school positions available.

If you really want a high school position, you are going to have to approach the schools directly ... or go through a recruiter.

That's what I did to get my current high school gig.

2. The type of job depends on the province. Gyeongsangbuk-do (where I am) has mostly middle and high school positions. The POE supervisor actually let us choose our first, second and third choices of positions this past year. Some provinces do this, some don't. Gyeongbuk may do it again this year, they may not. It changes all the time.

1. Depending on what you're missing for documents, some people have been hired on the condition that they show up to KNUE for orientation with the missing documents. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

3. I don't know how serious they are about wanting to know about other applications. I sort of lied on my application. It says "programs" and I wasn't applying to other "programs", just to other positions. Use your discretion.
