I am surprised no one has posted a thread yet concerning this...it's all over the news...

there's a post about the woman in Graz, Austria with 4 babies buried in her house but nothing about this yet...

I guess it doesn't make America look bad.....

It also reminds us that there are more moderate minority Muslims out there (e.g., the Bosnians) being killed by opponents from different faiths (e.g., Christians) and that also doesn't fit in with certain points of view around here either.

What was that about America?

More Srebrenica video exists, says UN prosecutor

Two days after graphic video showed Serbian troops executing Muslim men, the United Nations' top war crimes prosecutor said her office has more videos of the infamous 1995 Srebrenica massacre.

"I have other video material but as you know, it is public only when we can provide it in the court during the trials. At the next trial, we will be able to show such material," Carla Del Ponte, chief prosecutor for the UN war crimes tribunal, said on Friday.

Serbian television first aired the video Wednesday after it was shown in the case against former Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic at the war crimes tribunal at The Hague.

Reportedly filmed by Serbian troops, it shows six males being taken from a truck and lined up. With their hands bound, four of them are shot in the back. The remaining two are ordered to carry the bodies into a barn, where they are allegedly later shot.

Bruno Vekaric, a spokesman for the war crimes prosecutors' office, said the victims were from Srebrenica. Over five days in 1995, more than 7,000 Muslim men and boys were taken from the supposedly UN-protected enclave and murdered by Serbian soldiers.

Ten men were arrested after the video aired. Four remain in custody, including members of the Scorpions, a special force under the control of the Serbian secret police.

Del Ponte, who called the video "horrendous," said she will travel to Belgrade to pressure Serbian officials to find the people responsible, including wartime leaders Radovan Karadzic and General Ratko Mladic. The pair are believed to be hiding out with the help of Bosnian Serb nationalists.

Serbian President Boris Tadic said the video "deeply shocked" the nation.

"Those pictures are the evidence, proof of the monstrous crimes performed during the war in that region, crimes committed in our [Serbian] name," said Tadic.

First let me say up front that the Croats and the Muslims committed their own atrocities in this war so we shouldn't single out the Serbs. However, I always found it odd that Serbs in Canada were so quick to deny any Serb ever committed even a single war crime. Their line of argument went something like "well, sure people got killed, but Serbs were just defending their homes". Sure defending their homes by torturing and machine gunning helpless teenage boys...

I wonder how they'll oil their way out of this one...
