What is about the city air terminal that flying to New Zealand seems like such a big pain in the butt? Last year the asiana check in lady announced to my 15 year old brother that he had a 'do not board' order on his New Zealand passport. We had to wait for quiet some time while this mess was cleared up.

Today travelling on a Canadian passport with a New Zealand Returning Residents' Visa was too much for the check in lady at korean air. I explained that even without the visa I get 3 months in New Zealand and as the ticket was for 1 week I didn't see the problem. A few calls to various agencies and I finally get my boarding pass

A "do not board" order?? how did that come about??

Yes.. A Korean would be probably be confused at someone having residence in 2 countries.. they are usually curious at the fact that i do..
- why not just use your new zealand passprt when flying into NZ though? Old one expired?

we're not sure where that order came from. I told my folks about it and they rung up the passport office who told them no such order was placed so probably a data entry error

As for me. I don't have a kiwi passport. I came under a lot of questioning at the auckland end too. With more calls to supervisors. May see about getting a kiwi passport here since my absences from new zealadn seem to be freaknig the immigration service out these days.
