Yep...you heard it here first, the Korean news agencies haven't got a hold of it yet but no doubt by this time tomorrow it will be all over the news.

Man UTd will probably sign Park Ji Sung for 3 million pounds from PSV...Brian Glazier is in Holland right now...its from the Guardian so it is pretty solid rumour

Expect to see a truckload more Man Utd on TV...

To be fair this story has been all over the Korean sports media since Thursday when the Daily Mirror first broke it in England - go visit Soccerworld and you'll find TONS of threads on the subject Wink

Great news for Korean football. Park and Lee Young-Pyo are by far Korea's best players. It'll be interesting to see where Fergie slots Park in amongst the likes of Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs et al.

This is very old news.

Interesting nevertheless.

United have a way to go before he signs and I for one hope we don't get him. Not good enough. Plain and simple.

Very good point. Park may find himself a benchman. I hope not. It'll be interesting to see a Korean play in the fastest, toughest league in the world.

It is marketing. They really want the revenue that the Korean market might produce. 3 million pound gamble is worth it.

Exactly.. This is merely phase #1 of Glazer's whoring out of the ManU brand for everything it's worth..

That being said, nothing should be taken away from him as a player..

Wow, this news broke in Canada over the weekend, and I think half of the country shat themselves out of excitement!

Right. Remember the LA Dodgers? I wonder if it will be overkill this time around, too.

you can't say on the one hand that they're just buying him for the marketing, and then in the next sentence that he's a great player?!

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays next season- wonder if they're lining him up as a replacement for Scholes, who's rumoured to be retiring soon...

sure you can. they are players equally as talented as him, but not all of them would be major draws in large market.. joe schmo brit would have a hard time arousing the masses as a Korean of equal or greater skill can.

You're fooling yourself if you don't think this is part of a marketing plan.. they just happen to be marketing a better than average korean from a better than average market.
