Students give me the darnest presents. On Friday one of my 3rd Grade high school students gave me this.

I hadn't seen one of these in over 10 years.

Yeah, I think I have one of those and a 5, too, from back then.

I kick myself now for giving up an old-style W1,000 note that I somehow acquired from Barclay's Bank in New York. I tried to use it to pay for something in the airport and, having just arrived in Korea, didn't understand why the girl was very upset with me. Finally, she took it! Shocked

I got a couple of those lying around in my bills and odd coins collection. I'd love gifts like that; I've got a little collection of coins and bills from all sorts of places.

With my greying hair and this damn diabetes, I am feeling older than I am.

But I'll always be a kid at heart. Growing up is overrated.

I know you're 31, same as me. How long have you been coming here?

Actually I only visited Korea twice, in 1979 and 1988, before coming here to live and work in 2003.

Though I was born in Asia (Indonesia) and have been travelling in and out of the region pretty much all my life so far.

As I've said before, the more I learn about Korea, the less I feel I know.

No such luck. I don't call anyone Oppa.. I don't call anyone Eunni... I call my husband *darling* or *honey* or *oi you* .. not oppa or jah-gi-ah... Razz

We feel it is incestuous...
