Err, this isn't really quite the answer you're looking for; however, I know CBS sports is offering the NCAA streaming for $20.

I'm surprised that cable operators and/or networks are not offering pay-per-view video over the net as copiously as Korea.

I'm back in the states, and my wife is able to watch live Korean tv on our computer.

I don't know about the technology involved, but is it possible to get a friend with a DVR (digital video recorder) to record some games for you and then send them to you via P2P?

Get a program called bit torrent (I use Tornado ) and search basketball and torrent in google andyou should be able to fin alot of bbal sites with games - although a lot of them are in chinese you can still watch games

surely all you really need is the last 30 seconds of every game?

For the NBA yea the last 30 seconds might do... I am a fan of the pros just because I like basketball, not because the NBA produces that good of a product. So I'd like the last 2 minutes at least haha.

College and NBA... haven't had much luck with Googling so far. Will post here if I find something useful.

On this you can get CCTV-5, a Chinese TV station. This is the schedule for the rest of the season. I am sure they will show a lot of the playoffs too.

Woo-hoo! I was looking everywhere for basketball streams when I got here, never thought to ask here! (duh)

I wanted to download coolstreaming and watch Heat-Pistons. Anyone know where I can download it?
