In kind of an act of mercy, taking the unwanted critter from its new passed-along owner who would've "disposed" of it otherwise, I have a new pet turtle. It came with a few key elements -- aquarium, filter, water heater, a bit of food -- but there's still more stuff I'll need to pick up myself. But, see, I live in Korea, and I don't know where anything is in Korea until I log onto Dave's and post on the forum. So that's my question: where are the pet shops that service reptile owners? I live in Migeum, Bundang, so the closer the better, obviously, but I can make the occasional trip into the city if need be. We do have plenty of pet stores here, of course, but the only pet any of them cater to are stupid little yappy dogs. I suppose I could by one of them to use as turtle food... |

Oh, dude!
You need only stop at Sunae station in Bundang... there is a newer pet store building called "Zoo Zoo Land." It's kind of in a freaky location right across the street from the West side of Lotte Dept store, and North about 100 to 200 meters down that little road that runs parallel to Lotte. It's a tall building with metal art animal sculptures. I think you want to go to floor #5. Might be another floor just above that, though. They sell turtles there, and food too, I'm sure. They sell lots of stuff, but I have a feeling the place won't be in business so long. It's really not taking off.
Fun to look at the lizards, pigs, squirrels, stag beetles, cats, dogs, etc. |

Is your turtle big or little? You can try to filter the water if you want, most people don't. Turtles won't need heat for awhile but they need plenty of sun light. If you can't give them a full days direct sunlight, then you need a special reptile sun lamp. Dongdaemun's pet mart is at Dongmyo. Its got plenty of animals and good browsing. |
