Well, if you want to know a store name, I'm not so sure that anyone can help....and finding the store may be another problem altogether.
However, the enclosures you want are sold everywhere and are not at all hard to find. I'm not sure if they sell firewire, but USB2 is fast than firewire (480Mbps vs. 400 firewire), unless one speaks of firewire2, which is 800Mbps.
I'm guessing that the case will be between 40 to 60,000. |

Once again, the troll comes out from under his dark little bridge when he thinks the coast is clear.
Ok..."qualifying statement". Do you know this? Yep...I'm sure you do.
Try to disprove the numbers, which are all I presented.
To the OP...if you are thinking of compatability, go with USB2 as well. Not all computers have firewire. |

The only reason to get firewire is if you are going to be doing video editing. |

Supposedly, firewire is less CPU intensive than USB.
A bit slower but easier on your system. And you can daisy-chain firewire devices.
Just buy a combo box for 70,000. USB and firewire in the same box.

I bought a combo card but it won't work. YOu can use one or the other. You cannot use both, one must be disabled. |

Not sure what you mean by combo card. We're talking about a combo box. It's an enclosure for hardrives so you can use them externally.
The box has a usb port and a firewire port. You can use either of them, as long as your computer has the corresponding ports. You can't use both ports at the same time though.

If you have a choice (i.e. if they have a selection) get an enclosure with a built-in fan. I opted to save $10 or so and got an aluminum one without a fan and I regret the decision. |
