Do any of you guys who have been in Korea with all the hagwon owners (and some public) acting strange, like shuysters, the rude bumping, the cheating on your pension even if it is paid, the incompetence, cold lack of concern for us in many cases feel this is like the twilight zone, that this place is not a real. Some banks won't issue a debit card to foreigners, I couldn't get an international ATM, it was hard when I had to contest after my first job to find anyone to speak English even at immigration, though Koreans don't immigrate to Korea? Though, I have been to 22 countries, have lived in five, I still can't figure out this country. It feels so surreal. Also, the idea that sometimes you are treated as if you are not there, not a human being is so unusual. |

You've travelled a ton and lived abroad, yet you still haven't developed the coping skill of adaptability?
Cool avatar though. |

^Coping skills do not mute the power of observation.
Maybe you are the exception? |

I actually lived in one of those countries for 12 years, by the way. I will admit I have some trouble adapting to getting screwed over, deceived etc.... If that works for you, buddy, more power to you. |
