Last month, a wall collapsed in Washington Heights, NYC and it buried a bunch of cars. Unfortunately for a number of car owners, they weren't covered for "landslides." And even if they were, or wanted to sue the owner of the wall, they're still in a jam: there is no confirmation their cars are under the heap since they stil are working on removing the debris, and won't be finished for another year. Ouch

"Castle Village [the owner] can say all they want, and until that debris is finally picked up you have to believe them," Mr. Donovan said. "They can say that Humpty Dumpty's under there, but when the debris is cleaned up then all of our claims can be verified."

Hmm.. I lived up on Fort Washington and 170th Street for six months (up in Washington Heights).

Wonder if its the same neighborhood. Mostly all Dominicans.. usually playing stick ball in the streets between the brownstones.
