I plan to go to Korea, probably Busan, sometime after April or May and I plan on buying a laptop. Would anyone know if buying a laptop in Korea be cheaper than buying Canada?

buy it in Canada, much cheaper... desktops are comparable, but laptops are not.

Buy it in Canada for a number of reasons, but also see if they have an int'l. warranty and if it can be serviced in Korea. For example I went with Toshiba (6 years ago when they were still the laptop leaders) because of their 3 year Intl'l. warranty. The hard drive crapped out on me after 2 years and I was able to get it replaced for free at the Toshiba service center in Yongsan.

Make sure you get a good adaptor, you don't want to blow it out your first day in Korea.

Only the crappiest of low-end laptops won't come with an multi-voltage adaptor, either built-in or as a small box in the middle of the power cord. Check the bottom of the laptop if you're not sure, the specs should be there. You'll just need to pickup a small adaptor to change the plug from NA slots to Euro prongs (used in Korea) and a surge protected power-bar, cheap and found everywhere.
