Ok, my 'friend' would really like a vibrator however she hasn't seen any shops in Seoul selling them. Anyone know where I (sorry my friend) could find one!?

Also I am craving salt and vinegar crisps, seen any of those about?

Catholics rule!

I'm Catholic and I've confessed about masturbating. It's a moral sin, not an amoral sin. Do you think all Catholic boy's go through puberty without masterbating and they get ex-communicated? I think not. Have you ever been to Chile. If the Catholics there weren't around it would be similar to North Korea. Think before you stick your head up your ass. It's politics that makes them that way, not the Catholic Church.

Salt and vinegar chips are available at Hannam market...the little shop on the left hand side before you enter Hannam has them.

Vibrators can be bought in Songtan

There's a sex toy store in Itaewon and there are vending machines of them in lots of love motels too. Not really a prudish country at all once you scratch the surface.

That must explain their style of editing nudity.

It's all about appearances here. Ever notice all the barbershops- fronts for prostitution. Ever wonder why small towns can support 20 or 30 little hotels? places for people to have affairs. This is a very horny country that's in denial about it.

On a side note, my director, a Korean woman, constantly talks about how much she doesn't like the show Sex in the City, how the women on that show show bad morals -- the show, by the way, that she's always watching.

This is exactly the kind of false front behaviour that's so common here

How is it OK to depict a rape or violent sexual act, but at the same time it's necessary to edit out the pubic hair because it's apparently obscene? What's their definition of "obscene"? That is, rape or humiliation is not obscene but pubic hair is? They may indeed be horny, but they have very serious issues with sex, I think.

Don't they do that on American TV? Why is it okay to show murder on ABC but edit out two naked people loving each other?

I believe in Sweden any movie with violence (like Star Wars) gets an adult rating. However, nudity they're not so uptight about.

I agree with Peppermint. Koreans offer a thin layer of prudishness but when 15% of your GDP is the sex industry well... the figures speak for themselves.

You can buy Korean brand salt n vinegar chips just about anywhere these days - even on subway platforms. White and green bag. Had some just the other day. Or, then again, maybe they were sour cream and onion flavoured...? Either way, they were pretty good.

Sorry just realised I put this in the wrong forum! Oops! I have reposted in the general forum now if you would like to answer!

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=39972

Not sure about the chips, but as for the vibrator..... well.... just buy a cheap mobile phone with the vibrate function, paper mache it to desired proportions and shape, and start writing down your number on the sides of buses and so on...

easy.

Alternatively....... tell your "friend" to get a fella. Theres lots of bloke over here who would be happy to do the job.... (providing of course theres no korean ladies around...- speaking of which..... isn't about time another "korean women are sooooo sexy" thread was started??)

hope this helps you.... i mean your friend...
