In this forum, I ask everyone to recommend one (just one) place that is good to eat or drink. And say why. It helps us all. I like to know many places in each area of Seoul, instead of wandering around like an idiot for 20 minutes.

Ok I will start.

I really like 'Chili Chili' in Itaewon, close to Noksapyeong Station. They have been consistently friendly to me, and I am satisfied with the quality of the food and the prices. I recommend the 'burrito'.

On the downside, it is a little small, and can get crowded, but I don't mind so much. Oh yeah, they also have copies of 'Seoul Classifieds'.

All of the above.
I think there's a Baskin and Robbins in there somewhere also.
Would prefer Swensens or Haagen Dazs, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Petras Middle eastern place just across the overbridge in noksapyeong station (itaewon).

Devine food. Has Lamb (well more like mutton but still good) and it's prepared by authentic middle eastern dudes so you won'ts ee any kimchi.

Good service.

Decent prices.

Down side no booze but as the stairs are bit nasty I can understand why.

Seoul Pub in Itaewon.

Good staff. Good regular crowd. Beer is drinkable.

But. Too smokey if you are a non-smoker / ex-smoker.

Plus.

Two Tone in Seolleung. Nice staff. Nice environment. Beer a little pricey, but nice place to have a drink.

I love the beef burritos. I was living in Noskapyeong for a month (last month), and everyday I either ate at 'Chili Chili' or 'Istanbul' (which has Turkish kebabs which aren't that great - but a nice alternative).

Okay, my turn to recommend something:

TIN PAN ALLEY in HongDae has 2,000 won bottles of OB Beer. Good price for a bottle of beer! And the few times I've been in there, I don't hear the Korean music like Gold Bar and such (the traditional 'cheap beer' place in HongDae.

this is a yummy, cheap chain with a good atmosphere and friendly (if not giggley) service. spicey tofu juigae with a broiled fish on the side. W5000. there's a bunch around the city but i like the one in sinchon on the green line best.

3 Alleys in Itaewon.
The reason is basically all the Aussie music you can play in there & the poster of West Aussie hero Kevin Bloody Wilson.

I've recently been converted to Gyochon Chicken.

Holy crap, its the deep fried chicken we all know and love with a neat Korean twist on it.

The original flavour gets the big thumbs up from me. You can get it home delivered, and it goes down pretty well with a bottle or five of soju. I went to the one in Kangnam for my first taste. It's parallel to the main strip with all the cafes and clothes stores. Head out exit 6, go down towards Giodarno/KFC, cut in one street and keep walking in the same direction. Should be on your right.

jae.

Garak Market seafood.
Buy all the seafood you want and go to one of the little places right on the edge of the market and they'll cook what needs to be cooked, give you side dishes for the raw fish and plenty of soju for very reasonable prices.

I love Pasha in Kangnam. Turkish restaurant, and so darned good. I'm dying of hunger now that you made me think of it.

It's across the street from TGIFridays, I believe. Very close to the subway exit... maybe exit 8? Anyone know? Anyway, figure out which exit is the Subway exit, then exit out, walk about 80 to 100 meters until you can turn right on a small street. Pasha is there.
