Foreign investors making investment worth $2 million and over will now be qualified to obtain Korean residence, compared to the current ceiling at $5 million and over, the ministry said. The Justice Ministry said foreign investors making investment worth $500,000 or more will be allowed sojourn for five years from the current three years. Spouses of foreigners investing $100,000 or more will be allowed to work as professors and investment company executives among others. Green cards with three-year validity will be given to the investors making at least $500,000 worth of investment to enable the investors to skip applying for and personally picking up re-entry permits from the immigration offices when going on business trips.
