The kid, who had never flown a plane before, took off and landed the thing twice. He was in the air for 30 minutes!

There is no way this kid climbed in a Cessna with no experience (or prior knowledge) and took off and landed it. I've flown them several times and landed them only once. I landed it nearly sideways *doh*
Mind you with the Internet these days, who knows. |

The kid's story is BS. His Dad probably owns a Cessna or something and he's spent a lot of time in them.
But it is an intersesting "Wrotten Kid" story nonetheless...
At the risk of offending the Law and Order freaks, at least the Perp gets full credit for style... |

Have you ever flown a plane? I have. And I believe this story. Honestly, it's not incredibly difficult.
Amazingly, you can learn a lot from flight simulator games. It's possible this kid had some experience in one. |

Maybe the kid practiced with Flight Simulator.

Maybe the kid's a better pilot than you are? |

Nice to see you on the board Diver. I haven't seen you around for a while. Been busy? |

Busy and mostly spending time at 'the other board'. Thought I'd stick my nose in here for a little bit.
How have you been? |

I agree.
The RCAF promotes simulator games as one of the best ways to practice flying. The kid wouldn't care about the degree of his banks or his heading, etc. The basics of taking of and landing are relatively straightforward. |
