I'm not sure of my plans for the summer yet, and I probably won't know until early or mid July. Do most summer camps look for people before then, or would there still be lots of opportunities available?

You might be able to pick up something that late because there are always some no-shows, but I would NOT recommend waiting that long.

On this same topic, what's the chances of finding a summer camp position that's less than 10days long? Has anyone ever done one of these? I would like to use my vacation time to make some extra money.

Summer camps are kind of nice in that you can breeze in and breeze out. You still need to get the E2 and necessary one year contract but provided that you can find a decent-human employer you can get a LOR on completion of the camp. Else, you can just breeze out and breeze back in for winter camp. The camps can be high paying but just enought o cover your ticket.
