Just arrived, and I'm on the hunt for stuff to help with internalizing the sounds of hangeul. Ideal would be childrens books that have accompanying CDs - or perhaps children's songs, or maybe ballad arteests with liner notes / lyrics --

Anything, really, that has :

Printed Words
+
Sounds of Printed Words That Aren't Ridiculously Fast

Any ideas?

After a few days I've got the basics down, but all the reductions / assimilation stuff has me feeling stupid and inept.

DVDs with subtitles are just too derned fast right now, I'm afraid.

ThanksInAdvance,
t

(you can find a crack for it online, or just go ahead and buy it if you find it helps you)

׷, www.teenkorean.net is really good. sounds a bit like a fetish porn site, but it's great for learning conversational korean from an english-based site. all kinds of flash-based listening activities.

p.s. use it with IE...it doesn't work properly with Mozilla.

If you happen to know of any fetish porn based korean language learning sites, feel free to pass those along as well.

I tried to write my masters thesis on the efficacy of using erotic texts in vocabulary aquisition. For some reason, the overwhelmingly Catholic department wouldn't agree to it.

I might still have my 20 gig corpus (with frequency data, natch) from alt.stories.erotic lying about for any interested parties. It falls almost equidistant between the spoken and written corpora - something which I found far more interesting than my colleagues. Jerks.

Toomuchinfo, yes.
