I've read the Laptop sticky in the tech section, but I have a few questions.
Has anyone here bought a laptop in SK. Can you order one from an online company such as Apple, or Dell and have it shipped here without additional costs except shipping.
My employer told me that he will buy me a 'good' laptop. I'm looking for a 17' screen with the most power. Do you think I should Go out to Seoul's Yonsan tech market? |

I got a decent one at Yongsan at a decent price. My Korean friend was able to shop around for the best deal, though. |

Dunno about ordering from Apple, etc., but I do know that Amazon won't ship software or Playstation games over here.
There's an Apple "Experience Center" at COEX Mall at the Samseong stop on the green line. If you wanted an Apple laptop you could get it from there. |

Yes, I bought an Hp Notebook in Korea in 2002. I think I paid a little more because it had an English operating system and English keyboard. I bought it at Technomart. Have had no problems whatsover. I think from memory it was made in Taiwan.
Ask for a discount for cash. |

I thought I was getting a laptop later, turns out it was already ordered. It will be here Wednesday. It's a Samsung, all of the companys' equipment is bought from Samsung. They don't sell Samsung notebooks in the U.S.
Hopefully it's the Samsung M40 (17' screen) I was thinking about getting an Apple Powerbook previously. Not because I'm into Apple, but because my brother gets a 25% discount.
Oh by the way anyone have trouble viewing DVD's on their laptop, or have upgraded their laptop. |
