Ilsan is on the burbs of Seoul. It consists of like 5 subway stops starting from ending at Daehwa down to Madu I think, if not a little farther.
Up at Daehwa you have a Walmart, down a Juyeop you have a big movie theater. Down at Jeongsolbang you have a largish mall called La Festa. Nice place. Down by the Jeongsolbang subway station is a Bar called the Don't Go. Its a bit of a dive but good Mp3 collection, and alot of teachers hang out their at times. Later at night around midnight is when they start turning up.
Lots of amenities like outback steakhouse, tgif, mcdonalds and that kind of thing if you want western food. |

i enjoyed living in ilsan. convenient, clean. i rode my bike around lake park every morning, took my dog for a walk. those things would be a little difficult where i live now in central seoul. some people hate ilsan, but i miss it sometimes. |

The foreign crowd can get more cliquish than down in central seoul from what I have been told. I don't really know I have been slowing down in my old age... bleech big 3-0 come next friday. So going out and partying every weekend lost its fascination for me along time ago.
I have a friend that rollerblades around the lake about 5 times in a row... I think she is a sick perverted individual. It something like over 20 kilometers or so, I have no idea never take the time to go see the thing. Will make a point to wobble over tommorrow and walk around it. |

yeah, it's 5km around once. quite a nice ride when it's not busy (mornings)....avoid the place on sundays and even saturdays when the kids get out of school. |
