How Smart is Your Right Foot?

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction.

I told you so.

Your right hand and right foot.. the whole right hand side of you is ruled by the same area of your brain.. so unless your brain can multitask... it's difficult to ask one right part of your body to do one thing and the other bit of your right body to do another.

*I think*

Makes sense, it is a lot easier to keep your left leg going clockwise while tracing a 6 with right hand.

When I tried it, my foot cramped up and I poked myself in the eye.

God help me.

I can do it...it just takes concentration. And once I've drawn the air 6, I can't get my foot to make more than three-four more clockwise rotations. I need more practice. Smile

Is that why my toes can type 40 words per minute?

My right foot is dumb. However, my left foot can operate a VCR, including loading cassettes. I kid you not.

I found this other thing a bit like that...
Be sure you can make the vulcan symbol with both hands.

Shake your hands out and put them together (palms touching) with fingers closed.

Try to get your fingers to make the vulcan symbol as a unit; together.

It took me months to figure that out by myself...but then i got it; it's totally one of these mind over matter things.

I had the same thing with this 6 and circle deal.
I just seperate the actions in my mind (ie...don't try to think too hard about doing one AND the other at the same time...).
no prob
