E.Land arrest warrants denied
The Seoul Western District Court on Sunday denied arrest warrants for 13 E.Land union leaders involved in illegal sit-ins at two Seoul branches of the retailer giant.
The court only issued a warrant for union leader Kim Gyeong-wook, citing a previous conviction.
The E.Land labor union had staged weeks-long sit-in protests in opposition to the dismissal of some 900 temporary and short-term contract workers before the implementation of a revised law on protecting nonregular workers.
Police raided the demonstration venues early Friday morning, detaining some 168 unionists.
