Wow it's good to be back in Montreal!!!! We've been lucky in arriving right in the middle of the Jazz Fest; I'd forgotten what a good time wandering the streets and listening to all the great music is. Highly recommended detour if any of you has the chance to be here the first 2 weeks of July each year.
Montreal rocks!!! |

Wish I was there right now! I once saw Buddy Guy & BB King at the old Forum. The Mtl Jazz Fest has gotta be one of the (if not the) world's best. Something for everyone. |

This jazz fan has fond memories of the Jazzfest and of this, the best time of year in that beautiful city. August and September are nice too, and February for ice skating, but there's something special about early summer... like it's a paradise that will never end. I seriously considered settling down in Montreal. I still might. but I was last there for the whole month of 9/11 and it was a somber time I still recall quite vividly. |

There are lots of things I miss about living in Montreal but the one I miss the most right now is how many mosquitos it DOESN'T have.
Manitoba, on the other hand... |

If you're going to live in Canada, I really don't see any reason to live anywhere but Montreal. I've had the best, I can't go back to the rest. And anytime too, not just in summer. I love it when that city shows its teeth in winter. Somedays it can be so cold and colorless, but there's still no other place I'd rather be. When the wind's picking up right before a snowstorm and before it's completely dark in the evening is the best time. The whole mood of the city changes, but I still feel a type of safety in it. |

Sounds like a damn fine time to be had. But what were B.B King and Buddy Guy doing at a jazz festival? Those guys are a lot of good things, but jazzy ain't one of them. |

manly,
The jazz fest has long since grown beyond jazz.
It includes blues as well as other types of music. It is one happening festival. |

As are the Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Ottawa Blues Festival (but Montreal still reigns supreme).
I heard a rumour that Biddles closed? |
