How did you Dave's news hounds miss this one.

The scam was discovered after the boy, who had been given teachers' guides to memorize, apparently memorized not the actual answers, but grading instructions intended for teachers.
For one test question, the guide instructed teachers to "score as correct if the answer is reasonable"; the student answered the question by writing "answer is reasonable."

Yet another article in the war between private schools keeping the current freedoms they enjoy vs. the public schools, and the ministry of education. |

According to prosecutors, suspicions were raised after the boy, who was known for being lackadaisical and occasionally falling asleep in class, rose from 330th in his school to 40th last year.

Man this kid is dumb. He couldn't even get into the to 10% of his class. I wonder how many students were in his class? 330 perhaps? |

"The mother and the principal had become close while the mother was working as a member of the parents' group," said an official with the prosecution. "No bribes were paid in this case."
Ok, so no money was paid...
Me thinks there was a bribe of another kind. |

This reminds me of how much my students cheat. They always cheat, even on inconsequential things like aptitude tests or games. It drives me nuts. |

Cheating helps them prepare for the society they have to live in.
But it does bug me too sometimes. I give them a damn word search puzzle, and they don't seem to understand that's it's just a fun activity, not a competitive sport! So they copy and think they are clever when they finish fast from copying!
Some kids are so dumb. |

Does this mean that somebody who cheats on a language exam is a cunninglinguist? |

I interpret the quote as meaning that, due to the principal's failure to provide quality cheating instructions to her son, she did not pay the bribe when it came due. |
